Yesterday's bird photos

Yesterday when Katie and I took our late afternoon walk, we went a bit further and closer to the lake nearest our area, and there were some pretty ducks, coots, and a beautiful egret - I think it's a Great Egret because it has black feet.  I couldn't believe I got so close and also got a clear photo when it took off over the lake.

Great Egret - he's so graceful looking.

 Look at those beautiful feathers

Great Egret in flight.

Wood Duck - these are the cutest looking ducks!

Male and female Northern Shovelers.
They have bills that are long and wide at the ends.

We have LOTS of these Eurasian Coots

Male and female Mallards

Just bird photos today, but aren't they gorgeous?

Tom's coming this morning to bring me the Ford Escape, and I have a dentist appointment this afternoon with a new dentist - wish me luck!

From Me and Katie, have a great Thursday, everyone!  :)

  4. Alright! Great bird photos. Those beautiful feathers are what got all the egrets in trouble at the beginning of the 1900's. :(

  5. So thats what they are called..Wood ducks. We had some here for 2 years on Long Island NY. Didn't know what they were because we have mostly mallards. they left for some reason those Wood ducks. I guess they didn't like our winters.

  7. This looks like a great place. We like to visit friends in San Diego area and would love to try it out. Can you tell me what their fees are? All I can find on the website is $3 for weekdays & $5 for weekends. This CAN'T be right for full hook ups, free WiFi, etc.
By the way, I really enjoy reading your blog. Looks like you are enjoying life.
